After its foundation in 1913, the then Stoppani & Co. S.A. began to grow rapidly. Thanks to the great engineering know-how of its founder A. Stoppani and his employees, Stoppani supplied the whole of Europe with compasses, anemometers, on-board clocks and other instruments for many years. From the 1950s onwards and in line with the developments of the time, the assemblies manufactured by Stoppani became increasingly complex. After the two European wars, Stoppani & co. reoriented itself as a contract manufacturer, and it was in this position that Karl Nicklaus took over the company in 1995. In 1999, the entry into vacuum technology was initiated with the construction of an ISO 7 class clean room. It was also during this time that Equity Nova made the investments that paved the way for joining the SwissFactory Group, and our company in Neuenegg/Bern is one of the most modern companies in sheet metal forming, surface finishing and joining technology. With our strong focus on digitalization and the acquisition of fully automated systems with a direct connection to a fully automated sheet metal warehouse, Stoppani Metal Systems is the ideal partner for the production of large quantities.
“The transformation from patent-holding producer and distributor to contract manufacturer is symbolic of the changing times. From generalist to specialist and back again. Thanks to our investments in modern production, we are able to meet the most diverse wishes of our customers.”
